Bright Spots in a Stormy Market: Mentoring the Next Generation
Mentoring our latest batch of interns has been a genuinely refreshing experience. They are remarkably sharp, fast learners, and possess a surprisingly mature product mindset. Rather than getting bogged down in boilerplate, they grasp domain problems quickly and leverage AI to build and ship new features.
Admittedly, they were selected from the top tiers of leading universities. Even while the broader tech job market is in a steep downturn, their future prospects look wide open. In the middle of a gloomy industry storm, they are a rare bright spot.
At the same time, observing their caliber brings a quiet, reflective pressure for me as a father.
It makes me think deeply about how to raise and guide my own children—helping them build the kind of adaptability, grit, and excellence that will let them thrive, no matter what the job market looks like in their time.
