Looking back through photos

On a late May day, I reviewed my archived pictures on Google Photos from this exact time in previous years. It is a habit that helps me look back at the past and understand where I stand today.
Many images bring back unhappy memories, while others remind me of small joys. Looking back, I realize I did not have much happiness in the past, or perhaps I simply refused to accept the joy that came from the small things in life.
