Out of Tokens

Today my work stopped. Not because of a bug or a meeting. My AI usage limit ran out.

I sat there for a moment and felt strange. I did not know the limit existed until it hit me. That means I was using it a lot. Too much. I had built my whole day around it without noticing.

This made me think, seriously, about how I work now.

In the last months I built many things. Tools, small apps, a few experiments. It felt good. For the first time I could make things that used to be out of my reach. The barrier was gone. Anything I imagined, I could start.

But today a simple question came. Do these things have value? Or do I just enjoy the feeling of building? The feeling of making something I could not make before.

I am not sure of the answer. Maybe both are true. Building is fun, and that is not a crime. But there is a difference between building because it matters and building because it is easy now.

The limit is a good reminder. It is a wall that says: slow down. Use the tool, do not let the tool use you. Not every idea needs to become a project. Not every project needs to exist.

Tomorrow the limit will reset. I will build again. But this time I want to ask why first, before I start.
