Shifting from Collector to Maker

For a long time, my relationship with scale models was inside a Consumer Loop. I bought, collected, and displayed them in cabinets. It was an input-only process.

Lately, something is shifting. The urge to transition from a Collector to a Maker is growing.

In engineering, you eventually get tired of using pre-built libraries; you want to compile from scratch. Modding, painting, and assembling a model kit is the bare-metal version of a hobby. It forces a complete mental context-switch. When you focus on a 1mm nub mark or manage the paint dependency layer, the background noise of managing tech stacks and team dynamics simply drops to zero. It is a local runtime environment for deep focus.

I still carry my camera to capture frames of my kids, but I look forward to blending these two nodes: assembling a custom model, taking it out under the 5:00 AM cloud layers, and capturing it through the lens.

Moving away from pure consumption into friction-heavy creation. System healing is in progress.
