The 80/20 Rule of Platform Success: Lessons from a Failure

Today, I reviewed a product I built in the past that ultimately failed because we couldn't run its operations. It made me realize that in a two-sided gig platform market, a finished tech product accounts for only 20% of success.
The remaining 80% lies entirely in the operational battle. It is about burning cash to stimulate demand, marketing, retaining users, and managing crises. Most importantly, you must have solid capital or the ability to raise funds from investors.
Back then, I only handled that 20% tech part but quickly fell into the illusion that I had everything under control. Regardless, it was a valuable lesson that helped me grow and understand my own limitations much better.
