The Vanity of Personal Advice

The Vanity of Personal Advice

I firmly believe that personal advice is often completely worthless.

The Vanity of Personal Advice

Why? Because you are never truly in another person's shoes. You cannot give meaningful advice based solely on your own unique experiences and background. For instance, you cannot tell someone who is unemployed and completely out of money to invest in financial markets or real estate to get rich. That is unrealistic and unhelpful.

The best approach when someone is struggling is to simply stay silent, listen deeply, and offer true understanding. People rarely need a lecture; they just need a safe space to be heard.
