Trading Comfort for Stillness: 4 Days in the Wild

We just wrapped up a 4-day, 3-night camping journey with family and friends, setting up tents beside mountain streams, along windy beaches, and taking a small trail trek through the forest with my son.

Camping is always a trade-off: you give up convenience to immerse yourself in nature. This was easily one of our most fulfilling holidays. For the first time in years, I did not even bring a laptop, and work anxiety was completely absent. At one spot, I spent over two hours simply stacking river stones into tiny dams, sitting quietly and watching the water ripple through.

The 400km drive spanned mountain passes and coastal stretches, each terrain giving a distinct feel behind the wheel. After this trip, our car will likely rest in the basement much more since my wife will soon commute to her new job via public transit.

Back in Saigon with one full rest day still ahead, I feel deeply recharged and ready for whatever comes next.
