Unlocking the Physical Pipeline: 5km Runs, Zone 5 Highs, and Swimming at 40+

Today marked my first run fully liberated from the mindset of a recovering patient. The operational capacity of my body has officially scaled up.

I completed a 6km total cycle with a 5km pure running segment. My cardiovascular system allowed me to sustain a Zone 5 effort for 55% of the run, and my Garmin metrics re-classified my exertion level to Class 8—a tier sitting just below professional athletic thresholds (Class 9-10).

More importantly, I shattered a 40-year mental block: I finally learned to swim.

For over four decades, I convinced myself that full, proper swimming was an impossible subroutine for my body. Unlocking it now proves that most personal physical limits are merely unexamined assumptions embedded in old code.

Restoring the biological baseline was just the initial refactoring. The true battle lies in managing post-recovery complacency and enforcing daily execution. The baseline is green, the capacity is high, and the real test of discipline begins today.
